To me, the most important part of how I practice as a holistic nutritionist is focusing on teaching individuals how to use food intentionally. Using food intentionally helps individuals achieve their health goals and, more importantly it helps build healthy habits. In the end, we’re building a healthier lifestyle- not a temporary diet.

Holistic Nutrition is about bringing a wholeness back to our perception of what food is. It’s the reversal of ‘nutritionism,’ which changed our way of looking at food: into seeing it as the sum of its parts, rather than just as food. 
It’s also about returning food to its rightful place, as a means to an end, as a vehicle to celebrate relationships and community and a way to connect with the cycle of life. Becoming aware of one’s relationship with food and what motivates our choices gives a window into how we may be operating in the rest of our lives. Healing our relationship with food entails a journey that ultimately heals our relationship with ourselves.
